we sat down in the streets of tirana close to the train station with our backpacks and it took just a few seconds until some nice people started talking to us. one danish, martin, an american, kelly, and niels, an albanian-american. hope you are doing good guys!
that day there was an international soccer match coming up. so niclas started talking to people wearing the albanian jerseys and right away we were invited to drink a coffee with them. here you see only some of them, albi, gerti, and an import from the States: aaron. (from left to right)
die chance das spiel zu sehen liessen wir uns natuerlich nicht nehmen. eine gute entscheidung, albanien schlug zypern mit 6:1. auf diesem bild kann man bei genauerer betrachtung die platte von erwin skela schimmern sehn ;)

gerti, the president of THE fanclub for the national team of albania and a really perfect tourist guide ;) we guess he saw nearly nothing of the game cause he had to cheer up the crowd all the time, good job!mitten unter den enthusiastischen fans! in the middle of the shouting crowd! great feeling, thanks for taking us there!

unter dem banner, ein tor nicht gesehen, aber dafuer irgendeine politische nachricht an den mann gebracht....
party in the stadium. gerti in front, aaron and tobi behind
drinking some beer after the match for a great win and night
aarons place. he let us spend the night there, we could take a shower, charge our batteries, and wash our clothes. thank you for beeing such a perfect host!
after a really tasty breakfast with aaron we needed to take a picture at the main square of tirana
luxury food for us! three courses of typical albanian stuff plus one beer for just less than 4 euro each and it was so delicious!
nearly time to say good bye. last night in tirana, eating grilled corn and drinking macciato by the lake with gerti and his cousin rudin (photographer). if you take a closer look you can see us wearing the fanclubs shirt
we had a awesome time in tirana!

Hey guys!
I hope you get my message. Im glad to see that you had a good time in Tirana. Ha ha... I can't believe you where standing with the fans during the game. We sat a little higher looking down at the chearing fans...;)
I wish I could have stayed longer in Albania but it will be another time. Are you home from your journey?
Its good to see that you felt the Albanian hospitality! Did you rent a car or how did you get down to Butrint and the rest of southern Albania?
Kind regards,
Martin (from Denmark who you met in Tirana).
Ps. I like the picture...:)
